I feel like I always start my posts with the same line: "Sorry it's been so long...." I am sorry it has been awhile though! Life has a way of keeping me busy! Today's post will be a little short but I do love the craft that I am sharing today! :) It's cheap and easy!! I spent a total of $6 on this entire project but to be fair I already had some things on hand, so if you don't have these things you might end up spending a tiny bit more.
Materials Needed:
- Wooden Board
- Chalkboard Paint
- Paint Brush
- Chalk Marker
- Deer Adhesive Sticker - or you can print off one.
First, I want to say that I got the main parts of this DIY from the Target Dollar Spot so do make sure you check that section out before you start!
The wooden board I used has a stand on the back so that I stands up and it is called a "Menu Board." It was $3 from the Target Dollar spot. The other thing I got from the Target Dollar spot was the Deer. I got a pack of these for $3 as well. They are wooden on the back and the deer itself is made of fabric. You simply peel of the backing and it sticks right on! These are the only two things I personally bought because I already had the rest.
My bottle of chalkboard paint was $1.99 from Hobby Lobby and unfortunately I don't remember how much the chalk marker was.
Okay! Enough rambling, onto the project!
I painted the entire wooden board with chalkboard paint. I then put the Deer in the middle of the board and drew everything with chalk marker. If you have trouble free handing with chalk, I recommend printing out what you want to write or put on and then rubbing the back with a pencil. Then, put that onto the board with the pencil side down and start tracing your pattern. The pencil lead will transfer onto the board and then you can trace over it with chalk marker! I know I have a lot of trouble writing with chalk marker! Hope that makes sense! And I hope you enjoyed this short post!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
